Webinar: AI in general practice
Last Wednesday we partnered with ASGB Kartel to run a webinar on using AI tools inside a general practice. More than one hundred colleagues registered, which immediately confirmed the appetite for actionable AI applications.
What can AI already deliver today?
Many GPs share the same concerns: how do you start, what happens with patient data, and can you trust such a system?
Tom Braekeleirs kicked off with a realistic framework that covered what already works and where the current limits are. After that we introduced Co-Chat, our AI assistant that lets you ask questions about the patient record. Everything stays inside your practice and remains fully GDPR compliant.
The Q&A is where things got real
The broader potential really came through during the Q&A. Our automatic summarisation and coding of consultation notes clearly resonated with the audience.
One reaction captured it perfectly:
“If discharge letters are summarised, coded, and integrated into the record automatically, that would be spectacular!”
Structuring and coding already happens today. Integrating it straight into the medical record is the next milestone.
Will we still code manually?
The discussion naturally evolved into a bigger question: will manual coding disappear once relevant concepts in medical correspondence are recognised and coded automatically? And what happens when existing free-text concepts can instantly receive a structured code?
We think that is exactly where we are heading. A fully coded primary care record is on the horizon. It allows practices to identify target populations efficiently and coordinate preventive as well as chronic care.
Population management coming soon
The same structured data pipeline also unlocks practice-level population management. Many practices are eager to start with it, and it will become available shortly.
